Stockpile Volumes

Mobile scanning and UAV (drone) methods provide rapid and cost effective methods of computing stockpile volumes outdoors and inside silos or warehouse storage sheds. High accuracy laser scanners combined with GNSS and IMU (inertial measurement unit) devices can be mounted on vehicles and driven through the mine site and around stockpile locations. This enables 3D modelling and hence accurate volume calculations of the mineral, waste or un-processed ore stockpiles.
